This thesis studies the intergenerational wealth mobility between generations providing insight to the recent discoveries about the underlying reasons for intergenerational linkages. Growing interest in intergenerational wealth equality has encouraged more in-depth studies on the area and this literature review shows that the recent studies provide significant improvements to the estimation techniques as well as new information on the importance of different factors in calculations. This study shows that despite the growing magnitude of wealth data a more uniform wealth description is needed to make studies comparable to each other. In addition to this future research is needed to examine the impact political changes have on intergenerational wealth mobility.
