Abstract
Abstract: Two dimensional air flow velocities and turbulence parameters between cooling ribs of an electrical motor were measured using a laser-Doppler anemometer. Both the electrical motor and the air flow between the cooling ribs were approximately at the ambient temperature. Main result: The axial air velocity decreases substantially from 19 m/s to 8...9 m/s while flowing through the cooling rib channel. Also the kinetic energy of turbulence has a rapid decrease along the flow channel.Description
