dc.description.abstract Abstract: The relaminarization of a fully turbulent flat plate boundary layer subjected to a favorable pressure gradient inside a two-dimensional contraction has been carried out numerically. Two low-Reynolds number isotropic k-~ models are employed in the simulation. The simulated fluid flow and turbulence characteristics are compared with the experiment, demonstrating that the models have good agreement with the data as the flow approaches the laminar state. en
