Abstract:This thesis explores the relationship of home interior products and women´s fashion. I examine how home interior brands are branded and to which consumer segments they focus their marketing for. This study analyses how women´s fashion affects home interior products and how the fashion trends appear within the home interior sector. The thesis consists of a written part and a home interior collection for autumn/winter 2016. It consists of printed bedlinen sets, throws, cushion covers, wallpapers and candles. The visual appearance of the collection is based on a trend analysis. The conclusion tells that the home interior market would have space for new brands which are aimed for a smaller and more focused target group than the ones currently existing. Within the fashion world, brands are more differentiated and there is something for every consumer. Consumers who are interested in fashion and trends are likely to also be interested in how their home interior looks like. The fashion interested consumer would probably be a potential consumer/market for more trend-orientated home interior product brands. The final outcome for the thesis is an idea for a commercial collection. The target group is the consumers who are interested in fashion and follow trends on a regular basis. The collection is on-trend for autumn 2016 and holds design value long after the season. |
