Abstract:
A timesheet is an integral part of project management, and it is usually used to record the time spent by a team member on a task. There are many timesheet software in the market, but often knowledge companies have their own system because it is tailored to their specific needs. This thesis applied a full cycle of user-centered design to study the timesheet system of a knowledge company, with an aim to save time and effort for managers when they review and approve the timesheets of team members. The author conducted an empirical study to suggest improvements. Interviews were conducted with managers to collect the needs and practices. Then, the qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The solutions were delivered as mockup prototypes, and they were also evaluated by the managers. Some of the limitations and possible solutions were also addressed and discussed.
