Abstract
Työn tavoitteena on selvittää millaisia sähköisiä ominaisuuksia ja erityispiirteitä polkupyörän dynamokäyttöiseltä laturilta vaaditaan, jotta laturi toimisi asetettujen vaatimusten mukaisesti. Lisäksi tavoitteena on tutkia dynamon ominaisuuksia energianlähteenä ja millaisia ongelmia dynamokäytössä voidaan kohdata. Työssä polkupyörän dynamo mallinnetaan ideaalisena yksivaiheisena tahtikoneena. Lisäksi työssä esitellään dynamokäyttöisen laturin toimintaperiaate ja esitellään vaihtoehtoisia piiritopologioita laturin toteuttamiseksi. Työssä toteutetaan dynamokäyttöinen laturi simulointiympäristöön ja tarkastellaan latauslaitteen toimintaa eri toimintapisteissä. Simuloidulle latauslaitteelle toteutetaan yksinkertaistettu ohjausalgoritmi. Lisäksi työssä määritetään kahden napadynamon sijaiskytkennän parametrit laboratoriomittauksien avulla. Työn tuloksien perusteella simuloitulaturi todetaan toimivaksi useissa eri käyttötilanteissa riippuen käytetystä piiritopologiasta. Lisäksi työssä käytetty yksinkertaistettu laturin ohjausalgoritmi todetaan toimivaksi, mutta suurilla kuormilla laturin tehoa rajoittavaksi.

The aim of this thesis is to find out what kind of electrical characteristics a bicycle dynamo-powered charger requires in order to operate. Additionally the properties of a bicycle dynamo as an energy source will be studied and the problems that the dynamo drive may encounter examined. The bicycle dynamo is modelled as an ideal single-phase synchronous machine. The operation principle of the dynamo powered charger is presented, as well as the various circuit topologies which could be used to implement the charger electronics. In this thesis the dynamo-powered charger is implemented in a simulation environment and the charging operation of the device is examined at different operating points. A controller algorithm is implemented in simplified form and equivalent circuit parameters for two hub dynamos are defined by using laboratory measurements. Based on results the simulated charger is verified to operate in many different situations depending on the circuit topologies. The simplified control algorithm of the charger is verified to be functional, but the high loads will be the limiting factor of charging power.
