Archived copies of the Master's theses



The Master's theses of Aalto University and its predecessors are permanently preserved in electronic or printed format.

Electronic archive copies

  • The Learning Centre archives the new master’s theses only in electronic format (OEV).
  • The Schools of Technology theses from 1960 to 2014 and School of Business theses from 1960 to 2008 are digitized and only available in electronic format (OEVS).
  • Author of the thesis decides whether the thesis is published in the Aaltodoc database.
  • You can read electronic theses, which are not available in the open network, at the Harald Herlin Learning Centre customer computers. You can print theses for your personal study and research purposes. However, it is not possible to download the thesis file or copy text or images from the file.
  • Electronic theses, which are not available in the open network, can be sent to customers if asked. All requests must be sent to oppimiskeskus@aalto.fi.
Printed archive copies
  • The Learning Centre has archived printed copies of theses, which are not in electronic format.
  • The printed master’s theses of the School of Arts, Design and Architecture from 2011 to 2019 are located on the second floor of the Harald Herlin Learning Centre.
  • Other archived printed copies are located in closed storage. If you want to order a thesis from the storage, please contact the Learning Centre customer service: oppimiskeskus@aalto.fi. Mention the name of the author, the title of the thesis and your contact information.
  • Printed theses are available to read on the Learning Centre service desk the next business day after 12 am, unless otherwise agreed.
  • You can read the printed theses only in the premises of the Harald Herlin Learning Centre during our service hours. You cannot borrow the thesis.
  • You can take photocopies of the thesis for your personal study and research purposes, but you cannot scan theses into files.
