Item Requirements for energy efficient lift drive(2012) Tahvanainen, Erno; Blomberg, Mikael; Automaatio- ja systeemitekniikan laitos; Sähkötekniikan korkeakoulu; School of Electrical Engineering; Suomela, JussiThis thesis provides a sight to requirements of a modern electric traction lift AC drive and especially to issues related to energy efficiency of a lift. First the basics and categories of passenger lift technology are introduced. Electric drive design and structure is also presented. The main focus of this thesis is on low and mid-rise passenger lifts. The requirements are gathered from the literature such as articles and directives, which the most important are presented also in this thesis. The most important issues founded are related to regeneration, standby consumption and software. A measurement for regeneration efficiency on partial load conditions and standby consumption were also taken in lift simulation test bench. From the measurements can be concluded that regeneration reduces energy consumption also on partial loads but increases especially the complex power taken in standby mode. Additional software has to be used to control the standby energy consumption.
