Technical air navigation services are experiencing remarkable change at Finnish airports. The main objective of this thesis is to study the related rationalization and development of maintenance related information systems focusing on Service Desk -function development. Generally, practices of continuous organizational development should be considered simultaneously with re-engineered information processes and development techniques. Therefore, interrelationship of business and organizational models and their integration to organizational change management are also discussed in this study. Efficient air navigation systems are a prerequisite of safe and reliable air traffic control. Fault rate and maintenance outages should be carefully monitored by diagnostics systems. In this study we focus especially to investigate current service diary system HVPK by applying interviews and query forms to scope the related service concept and Customer experience. Our results indicate that the HVPK do support the local maintenance operations in certain extent but there were strong faults in system usability. In addition, the current realization is Excel -based and relies on old fashion FTP connections. A browser application should be developed to enable a wider availability Some room for improvement was also in reporting and printing functionalities and in general, in usage of fault interval statistics. The study is concluded by development discussion options.
