- Energy efficiency and renewable energy use in the Vietnamese fish processing industry
Helsinki University of Technology | Master's thesis(2009) Duong, Ngoc TuElectricity generation is the leading cause of industrial pollution in the world. Most of our electricity comes from coal, nuclear, and other non-renewable sources. We are in a critical point and must react now to this global concern matter. This thesis focuses on solutions for clean energy, especially renewable energy use that generated from renewable sources and one of these is Pangasius's fat in the Vietnamese fish processing plant. The fat is used to produce value added products, biodiesel and glycerin, beside the main product, fillet. Also the use of the newly less emissions CO2/NH3 cooling freezing cascade system for storage gives a great contribution to the climate change. This topic has been briefly pointed out in this thesis and surely needs for further investigations and studies and dissemination of this system is needed in food and beverage industry worldwide. The last section of this thesis focused on energy savings and efficiency of a Vietnamese fish processing plant and is reported in this thesis based on the real data collection from the plant during the site visit on October 2008.
